Overview

Klingner And Associates is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their Site Development Department in Davenport, Iowa. This role focuses on infrastructure improvements by leading site development and municipal engineering projects that enhance community outcomes across Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. The ideal candidate will collaborate with diverse professionals to deliver innovative and sustainable designs while ensuring project compliance and quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead site development and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and overall quality.
  • Develop and review designs, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Provide technical input including stormwater hydraulic modeling.
  • Complete Preliminary Engineering Reports and cost estimates.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory trends and industry advancements.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Attend municipal meetings to present project information.
  • Mentor younger engineers and technical staff.

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience in site development or municipal engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer license in Iowa (or ability to obtain within three months).
  • Knowledge of Civil3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Understanding of stormwater modeling software.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with regulatory agency laws and permitting.
  • Ability to write reports and scopes of work.
  • Interpersonal skills for building client relationships.
  • Knowledge of Iowa SUDAS standards.
