Overview

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a Child Welfare Liaison in Tampa, Florida. This role is focused on providing comprehensive case management services to clients and families while promoting safety, strength, and community engagement. The position requires establishing meaningful relationships with families and coordinating various services to support children's welfare and family reunification efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept and manage all assigned cases in a timely manner
  • Conduct family assessments and develop case plans in collaboration with families and stakeholders
  • Perform regular home visits for children in care according to required frequencies
  • Accurately document all case activities in an electronic database within stipulated timeframes
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide timely referrals to clients
  • Complete and submit necessary court documentation and participate in court activities
  • Conduct safety and family functioning assessments as required
  • Facilitate parental and sibling visits and provide supervision for children awaiting placement
  • Attend required training, meetings, and workshops to maintain certification
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as scheduled

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field; Social Work preferred
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with children
  • Child welfare certification within one year of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate auto liability insurance
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of service populations
