Overview

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a Child Welfare Liaison in Fort Myers, Florida. The role focuses on providing comprehensive case management services to clients and families, with an emphasis on child safety and family dynamics. The Child Welfare Case Manager will establish relationships with families, develop case plans, conduct assessments, and maintain regular documentation in accordance with agency standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept and manage all assigned cases
  • Conduct family assessments and develop case plans
  • Visit children in their primary residences as required
  • Document all case activities in Florida Safe Families Network
  • Maintain the physical case file and submit service requests
  • Complete court documentation and participate in court activities
  • Conduct child safety assessments and prepare safety plans
  • Arrange for placements, transport children, and organize visits
  • Attend appointments, staff meetings, and trainings as required
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as scheduled

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field; Social Work preferred
  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance
  • Adaptability to irregular hours and extensive travel
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of socioeconomic needs
