Overview

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a Child Welfare Coordinator in Fort Myers, Florida, to provide comprehensive case management services to children and families. The coordinator will engage with clients, develop case plans, and ensure the well-being of children under protective services while adhering to the agency's core values.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept assigned cases and meet with children and parents within specified time frames
  • Negotiate and develop case plans based on family strengths and needs
  • Conduct regular home visits and maintain documentation in the Florida Safe Families Network database
  • Develop knowledge of community resources and provide timely referrals
  • Prepare and submit court documentation as required
  • Conduct initial and ongoing safety assessments and plans
  • Transport children and arrange visits as necessary
  • Participate in training courses and maintain on-call responsibilities
  • Document all case activities accurately and in a timely manner

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field (Social Work preferred)
  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate auto liability insurance
  • Experience with case management and child welfare processes
