Overview

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a Child Welfare Consultant in Tampa, Florida. The role focuses on providing comprehensive case management services to clients and families while aligning with the agency's core values. The consultant will engage in assessments, develop case plans, and ensure timely documentation and court participation.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept assigned cases and conduct family assessments within specified timelines
  • Negotiate and develop case plans in collaboration with families and other stakeholders
  • Conduct regular visits with children and maintain accurate documentation
  • Foster relationships with service providers and document progress
  • Attend court activities and prepare necessary documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain confidentiality
  • Organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments by established deadlines
  • Perform on-call responsibilities and travel as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field, preferably Social Work
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience working with children
  • Child welfare certification within one year of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate auto liability insurance
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of service populations
