Job Description

Overview

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking Child Welfare Case Managers to provide comprehensive case management services to clients and families. This role focuses on building relationships, conducting assessments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children while adhering to the agency's core values.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept and manage cases assigned by the unit supervisor
  • Conduct family assessments within specified timeframes
  • Develop case plans collaboratively with families and involved parties
  • Document case activities in the Florida Safe Families Network database
  • Conduct home visits and maintain regular contact with service providers
  • Attend court activities as necessary and submit documentation on time
  • Ensure all Independent Living functions are completed as required
  • Respond to on-call responsibilities and perform other related duties as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work preferred
  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to drive locally and throughout the state
  • Experience in case management and knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of service populations
