Job Description

Overview

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking Child Welfare Case Managers to provide comprehensive case management services to clients and families. The role involves building relationships with families while ensuring child safety and navigating the complexities of child welfare.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept cases and meet with children and parents within specified time frames.
  • Negotiate and develop case plans in collaboration with families and relevant parties.
  • Conduct regular home visits and document all activities in the Florida Safe Families Network database.
  • Maintain case files and submit service requests to the lead agency.
  • Develop knowledge of community resources and ensure timely referrals to services.
  • Prepare and participate in court activities and document case progress.
  • Conduct child safety and family functioning assessments as needed.
  • Transport children and supervise them as required.
  • Attend necessary appointments, trainings, and staff meetings.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field; Social Work preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with children.
  • Child welfare certification within one year of hire.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate auto liability insurance.
