Overview

The Child Care Associate Teacher at Keene Young Mens supports the YMCA's mission of community building through youth development and education. This role involves creating a safe and positive environment for children while implementing curriculum under the guidance of the Lead Teacher and Director.

Key responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with YMCA members and families
  • Provide direction for the program and classroom
  • Implement curriculum according to established guidelines
  • Design and execute daily lesson/activity plans
  • Supervise children and classroom activities
  • Conduct observations and evaluations of each child
  • Maintain positive communication with parents and engage them as volunteers
  • Keep the program site and equipment well-maintained
  • Attend family nights, activities, and staff meetings

Required skills

  • Experience in early childhood education
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement curriculum
  • Effective communication skills with parents
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
  • Child Abuse prevention training
  • At least 1 year of experience in a developmental setting
  • Preferred 3+ years in a licensed childcare facility
