Job Description

Overview

The Chief Lending Officer at Sauk Valley Bank & Trust is responsible for directing the bank's entire lending program, supervising lending operations, and fostering relationships with borrowers. This role involves maintaining the bank's loan policy and collaborating with staff to align business development objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises all phases of the lending operations.
  • Maintains and develops relationships with borrowers in business and agricultural communities.
  • Prepares and maintains loan policy and underwriting guidelines.
  • Reviews loan presentations for loan committees and assists in structuring credit facilities.
  • Works with the senior management team on business development and financial performance objectives.
  • Stays updated on regulations and legislation affecting the bank.
  • Manages relationships with participating banks.
  • Oversees and manages commercial and agricultural credit participation.
  • Trains and evaluates departmental personnel, recommending personnel actions.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior financial position.
  • Extensive lending experience in financial institutions.
  • Background in financial institution policies and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
