Overview

Native American Connections (NAC) is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial operations and collaborate closely with leadership to enhance the organization's mission of providing integrated healthcare and housing solutions. The ideal candidate will lead strategic financial management to ensure sustainability and align with NAC's commitment to community impact and support for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement NAC's financial strategy in alignment with the mission and strategic plan.
  • Analyze financial performance and market trends for forecasting and risk management.
  • Prepare the annual budget and present financial statements to leadership.
  • Oversee accounting systems and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the President/CEO and senior leadership.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships.
  • Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with funding sources and maintain communication with partners.
  • Identify and manage financial risks through strong internal controls.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Management
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in finance or operations
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in affordable housing or real estate finance
  • Proven C-suite experience, ideally in a non-profit housing and healthcare setting
  • Deep knowledge of non-profit financial management, including GAAP and auditing
  • Excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
