Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Prairie Band, LLC is responsible for the administration and financial operations of the organization, focusing on strategic planning to promote growth and customer satisfaction. This executive role involves oversight of accounting, risk management, budget preparation, and financial controls, while collaborating closely with the senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and organize accounting, risk, budget preparation, financial controls, and audit functions
  • Facilitate cross-collaboration across divisions to support reporting, analysis, and forecasting
  • Ensure staff receives appropriate training and development
  • Establish and monitor performance goals for staff and conduct annual appraisals
  • Serve as the liaison with external and internal auditors and regulators
  • Prepare financial statements and regulatory reports
  • Manage cash balances and forecasts, and oversee investment portfolio
  • Participate in strategic planning with executive team
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Approve and oversee projects, and communicate pertinent issues to executives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Master's degree or CPA preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of management experience in relevant sectors
  • Experience as a CFO or Controller in government contracting
  • Knowledge of construction accounting
  • Familiarity with accounting software like CostPoint or Unanet
  • Experience in real estate development preferred
  • Proficiency in IT and relevant technology trends
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
