Overview

Peckham Industries is seeking a Chief Engineer specializing in precast concrete to oversee all structural engineering efforts within the company. This key leadership position will manage in-house design engineers and coordinate with third-party engineering firms to ensure high-quality designs and compliance with industry standards for various construction projects, particularly parking structures.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the internal engineering team, focusing on performance and career growth.
  • Coordinate with third-party engineering firms for design accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Direct the design and technical oversight for new precast concrete structures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and develop quality assurance processes.
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving for the manufacturing team.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to align engineering insights with customer specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects and oversee engineering deliverables to meet project timelines and budgets.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience, especially in precast concrete
  • Expertise in designing parking structures
  • Experience managing teams and subcontractors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, SAP2000, and other engineering software
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
