Chief Engineer Serve as an engineering leader at JLL Transform engineering at JLL with your leadership and experience The Chief Engineer oversees the efficient, safe and responsible operation of all building systems and equipment while also leading the engineering team. The Chief Engineer is responsible for protecting and improving the value of the client's assets and will be expected to provide recommendations for operational and capital improvements. Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including: fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls) electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switch gear), lighting and temperature controls systems, critical environments, light construction (painting, doors, relites, locks), digital systems (fire alarm, duress, card access), and Audio/Visual services. Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal development Identify maintenance objectives of the facility and incorporate those objectives into a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance procedures Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building's staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer, and manage safety training program Communicate daily with client, General Manager and property team to Manage compliance with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them Assist in the development of a capital improvement plan, including infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications Serve on the Special Operations leadership team advisory committee to help develop elements of the engineering operations product and ensure compliance with the firm's internal policies and procedures Select, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor and document performance. Respond effectively to all emergencies and service calls Lead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs Maintain a clean and safe work environment and maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws Other projects and tasks to be assigned Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid state driver's license 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or similar 2+ years of experience managing an engineering/maintenance team Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable Universal CFC EPA certification Operating Engineer license or similar (as applicable by state regulations) Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems (BAS) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or drive Strong customer service and communication skills This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
