Job Description

Overview

As the Chief Building Engineer at JLL, you will lead the engineering team to ensure that machinery and systems operate safely and efficiently while achieving 100% uptime through reliable maintenance practices. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, managing contractor activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning equipment, and other mechanical and electrical systems
  • Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring and training
  • Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies through purchase orders and inventory checks
  • Identify safety hazards and implement safety training programs
  • Oversee contractor activities and maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation

Required skills

  • 7+ years of facilities-related work experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and construction planning
  • Experience with HVAC and mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Universal Technician certification for CFC's (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent
