Job Description

Overview

Menlo College is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead its comprehensive $100 million fundraising campaign ahead of its centennial in 2027. The CAO will play a pivotal role in enhancing alumni relations and development, focusing on building relationships with key stakeholders to support the College's mission and vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, and mentoring to the Advancement team
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to maximize donations
  • Manage a portfolio of major donors with personalized cultivation and stewardship plans
  • Analyze donor interaction reports to inform strategic decisions
  • Partner with College leadership and trustees to enhance donor engagement
  • Lead fundraising events and initiatives

Required skills

  • 8+ years of fundraising experience with a track record in securing major gifts
  • 5+ years of staff supervision experience
  • Experience in higher education fundraising preferred
  • Proficiency in fundraising tools and database management (preferably RaisersEdge)
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking abilities
