Job Description

Overview

Menlo College is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead a $100 million comprehensive campaign in preparation for its centennial in 2027. The CAO will oversee alumni relations and development, working closely with key stakeholders to enhance relationships and drive fundraising efforts in support of the College's mission.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, and mentoring to Advancement staff
  • Develop and implement strategies for fundraising that maximize giving
  • Manage an active portfolio of major donors and prospects
  • Play a leading role in fundraising efforts
  • Analyze reports on donor interactions to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with the President and other College leadership
  • Lead planning and execution of fundraising events

Required skills

  • At least eight years of fundraising experience
  • Five years of experience supervising staff
  • Experience with major gift solicitation and fundraising strategies
  • Knowledge of moves management and wealth screening
  • Proficiency with databases, preferably RaisersEdge
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Passion for the mission and values of Menlo College
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • CFRE credential a plus

What the company offers

  • Salary range of $185,000-$235,000
