Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) About the Company Flourishing municipality in central Alberta Industry Government Administration Type Government Agency Employees 201-500 About the Role The Company is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to serve as the most senior executive, responsible for enacting the Council's vision and direction. The CAO will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the effective implementation of the Council's strategic goals and direction. This role involves fostering a high-performance culture, promoting operational excellence, and ensuring that municipal services meet the needs and expectations of residents and businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal governance, particularly in the context of Alberta's Municipal Government Act, and will be adept at financial oversight, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. They must also have a proven track record in leading organizational change, building positive workplace culture, and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups. Candidates for the CAO position at the company should have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with a Master's degree being an asset. Professional municipal leadership education and a minimum of 8 years' of senior leadership experience in municipal government or a complex public sector organization are required.
