Overview

The Chicago Metro Farms Fund Market Intelligence Intern will support The Conservation Fund's efforts to mobilize capital for peri-urban agricultural lands through market intelligence and stakeholder engagement. The role involves creating deliverables that shape funder prioritization and enhance the Fund's narrative to attract diverse capital sources.

Key responsibilities

  • Document market alignment by evaluating regenerative agriculture standards and funding opportunities in the Midwest.
  • Research and identify three to five anchor buyers in the Chicago Metro area.
  • Produce a written Chicago Metro case for support to serve as the narrative foundation for the pitch deck.
  • Refine and adapt the current pitch deck for different audiences including foundations and corporate investors.
  • Review existing Farms Fund collateral to identify alignment with funder expectations.

Required skills

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from environmental studies, economics, public policy, sustainable food systems, or a r
  • Strong research, synthesis, and professional writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage parallel workstreams with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with regenerative agriculture or sustainable food systems.
  • Experience with funder research.
  • Interest in conservation finance or impact investing.

  • $23.00 per hour for the internship which totals 375 hours.
