Overview

Avtec Finishing is seeking a skilled Chemical Bath Technician for its 2nd shift to maintain production chemistry and manage chemical waste treatments. The role is integral to the manufacturing of essential products in sectors such as medical and aeronautics, and offers opportunities for career growth based on employee initiative and performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Batch treatments and tank changeouts as required
  • Maintain and perform weekly and month-end chemical inventories
  • Ensure chemical filtration systems are operational
  • Uphold company safety and PPE requirements
  • Maintain housekeeping in chemical maintenance areas
  • Assist the Hazardous Waste department when necessary
  • Cross-train to fill in for vacations or absences

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing or production
  • Technical training or certification in chemical maintenance preferred
  • Hazwhopper training
  • DOT hazardous materials training
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Ability to read a ruler and analog clock
  • Working knowledge of plating tank chemistry
  • Good organizational and math skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot chemical-related issues
  • Effective communication and teamwork
