Overview

Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking a Chef Manager to lead their culinary team at Great River Health - Klein Center in West Burlington, IA. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service and food experiences while managing kitchen personnel, overseeing catering events, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes; standardize production recipes for consistent quality
  • Establish presentation techniques and quality standards; plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and uphold safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and provide culinary instruction or demonstrations

Required skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • Experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
  • Strong oral, reading, and written communication skills
