Job Description

Overview

The Chef I at Target Hospitality in Spring, Texas is responsible for serving guests and assisting in the production of daily menu items. This role involves adhering to safety protocols and food safety standards while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain safety culture by following all SOPs, JSA's, policies and procedures
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment including grills, slicers, tilt skillets, deep fryers and convection ovens
  • Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and discarding of expired food according to HACCP and FIFO guidelines
  • Prepare meals on the line using grill, oven, and fryers
  • Serve guests and ensure proper meal scans
  • Use appropriate utensils for serving, portion control, and sanitation
  • Attend all safety meetings and participate in emergency response procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Required skills

  • Culinary skills with 1+ years of experience in remote camp or hotel/hospitality industries
  • Knowledge of food safety management and HACCP standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Team collaboration and problem solving
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Valid ServSafe certification
  • First aid certification is an asset
