Overview

BJC HealthCare is looking for a Med Surg Charge Nurse (RN) in Valley Park, Missouri. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating activities of a unit on designated night shifts, performing direct patient care, and serving as a clinical resource for nursing and support staff. The hospital has received recognition for nursing excellence and quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate unit activities on designated shift
  • Perform direct patient care as needed
  • Assess, plan, evaluate, and document the nursing process
  • Identify and resolve gaps in patient care during hospitalization and at discharge
  • Lead development and implementation of individualized plans of care
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes
  • Analyze practice standards and provide feedback to enhance patient care
  • Evaluate and adjust care to improve patient satisfaction

Required skills

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing
  • 2-5 years of nursing experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
