Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Endoscopy department at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. This role involves leadership and coordination of nursing staff while ensuring high-quality patient care and achievement of clinical objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Assigns, directs, educates, and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
  • Performs performance evaluations of staff.
  • Assesses daily patient care needs and develops patient care assignments.
  • Collaborates with advanced practice providers for quality outcomes.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and addresses issues affecting outcomes.
  • Responds to patient care complaints and manages through established channels.
  • May provide input for hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Applies evidence-based practice to nursing care based on patient needs.

Required skills

  • Endoscopy nurse experience (1-2 years preferred)
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or issued by Compact State
  • Experience in GI procedural nursing
