Overview

The Chaplain Corps Officer at the US Navy provides spiritual care, counseling, and ethical leadership to service members and their families, aiming to support morale, readiness, and resilience in diverse environments. This role involves delivering religious ministry consistent with one's faith, facilitating the religious needs of personnel from other faith groups, and advising commanders on matters related to ethics and morale.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver religious ministry consistent with your faith tradition
  • Facilitate for the religious needs of personnel from other faith groups
  • Advise commanders on matters of religious needs, morale, ethics, and command climate
  • Provide confidential counseling and crisis response
  • Serve as staff or supervisory chaplain as experience is gained
  • Contribute to the shared culture and standards of Professional Naval Chaplaincy
