Overview

The Chaplain Corps Officer in the US Navy provides spiritual care, counseling, and ethical leadership to service members and their families, supporting their morale and resilience. The role involves delivering religious ministry, advising commanders, and facilitating the religious needs of personnel across various environments including shore installations and operational units.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver religious ministry consistent with your faith tradition
  • Facilitate for the religious needs of personnel from other faith groups
  • Advise commanders on religious needs, morale, ethics, and command climate
  • Provide confidential counseling and crisis response
  • Serve as a staff or supervisory chaplain as you gain experience
  • Support ceremonies, memorials, and humanitarian missions
