Overview

The Chaplain Corps Officer provides spiritual care, counseling, and ethical leadership to service members and their families in various military environments. The role supports their morale, readiness, and resilience while ensuring the free exercise of religion across diverse faith backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver religious ministry and worship services consistent with faith tradition
  • Facilitate the religious needs of personnel from various faith groups
  • Advise commanders on religious needs, morale, ethics, and command climate
  • Provide confidential counseling and crisis response
  • Serve as a staff or supervisory chaplain as experience is gained
  • Contribute to the culture and standards of Professional Naval Chaplaincy
