Overview

The CFO will lead a dynamic 15-person team in Silver Spring, Maryland, focusing on the strategic financial leadership of a mission-driven organization. This role encompasses the design and scaling of financial operations while fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace culture with remote work flexibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and scaling of financial strategies for the organization.
  • Direct enterprise-wide financial strategies, predictive modeling, and budgeting.
  • Oversee complex accounting systems and ensure compliance with funding regulations.
  • Manage the accounting infrastructure, including revenue cycle management and treasury functions.
  • Prepare and execute audits, tax filings, and regulatory adherence under GAAP.
  • Deliver financial narratives to the Board and executive committees.
  • Mitigate enterprise risk through refined internal controls and compliance audits.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing finance and accounting division.
  • Integrate financial software and reporting systems for operational efficiency.
