Overview

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a CFO for a manufacturing and project management firm in Hamilton, Ontario. This high-impact role involves developing and executing financial strategies, overseeing financial management and reporting, and managing risks while fostering collaboration within the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance and propose improvements
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Manage financial reporting processes and ensure timely statements
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and prepare reports
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • CPA designation required
  • Proven experience in a CFO or senior financial leadership role
  • Understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Knowledge of financial management principles and regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Proficient in financial analysis tools, ERP systems, and MS Office
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
