Overview

Connected Roots Care Center is seeking Certified Substitute Teachers for the 2026/2027 school year at their Omaha locations. The role involves implementing educational programs and providing support in early childhood settings aimed at students with special needs. Candidates must possess a valid Nebraska Teaching/Substitute Certificate and preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement the educational program and daily activities for students
  • Create materials and lesson plans for daily implementation
  • Conduct small group instruction tailored to each child's learning level
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment following ECERS guidelines
  • Complete consistent assessments and document children's growth and activities
  • Communicate accurately with families and staff using the online platform Tadpoles
  • Seek professional development opportunities as required

Required skills

  • Nebraska Teaching License
  • Substitute Teaching License
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Early Childhood Education or Special Education
  • Experience with preschool children, especially those with special needs
  • Ability to lift and perform care tasks physically
  • Strong communication skills with clients and team members
  • Flexibility and understanding in interactions
  • Competency in creating and implementing lesson plans
