Overview

Connected Roots Care Center is seeking Certified Substitute Teachers for the 2026/2027 school year in Omaha, Nebraska. These roles are focused on providing compassionate, education-based care for children, particularly in specialized programs for those with unique needs. Candidates must have a valid Nebraska Teaching/Substitute Certificate and are expected to create lesson plans and implement educational programs for young children.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement the educational program and personal care for clients
  • Create materials and lesson plans for daily implementation
  • Conduct small group instruction tailored to each child's learning level
  • Maintain a clean and organized learning environment following ECERS guidelines
  • Complete assessments and document children's growth and activities
  • Communicate consistently with families and staff using CRCC's online platform
  • Seek professional development opportunities as required

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education (preferred)
  • Certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education
  • Nebraska Teaching License
  • Substitute Teaching License
  • Experience with preschool children, especially those with special needs
  • Ability to complete 12 education hours (CEU) annually
  • Personal Care Aide Training completion
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
