Overview

Connected Roots Care Center is seeking Certified Substitute Teachers for the 2026/2027 school year in Omaha, Nebraska. The roles involve working in various educational settings, including specialized programs for early childhood and students with unique needs. Candidates must possess a valid Nebraska Teaching/Substitute Certificate and preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Education with relevant certifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement educational programs and activities of daily living for clients
  • Create materials and lesson plans for each day
  • Conduct small group instruction tailored to each child's learning level
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and clean learning environment following ECERS guidelines
  • Complete assessments and document growth and milestones for all children
  • Utilize the online platform Tadpoles for communication with families and staff
  • Seek professional development opportunities as required

Required skills

  • Valid Nebraska Teaching/Substitute Certificate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, preferably with certifications in Early Childhood Education and Special Education
  • Experience with pre-school children, especially those with special needs
  • Ability to complete 12 education hours (CEU) annually
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and perform two-person lifting when necessary
  • Flexibility and patience in dealing with clients and team members
