Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for its Raleigh location. This role involves cleaning, decontaminating, and maintaining medical instrumentation, ensuring high standards of patient care within the hospital.

Key responsibilities

  • Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and disinfect medical instrumentation and equipment
  • Maintain communication with departments regarding sterile supply requests and delivery
  • Support best practices in quality patient care
  • Perform quality control measures and maintain unit cleanliness
  • Utilize a computerized instrument tracking system for documentation and reporting
  • Ensure punctual distribution of case carts and equipment to the OR
  • Maintain accurate logs for equipment repair
  • Assist in training new hires and serve as a resource for staff

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (not required for employees hired before 2/18/19)
  • Certification as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA)
  • Experience in sterile processing preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of decontamination and high-level disinfection processes
