Key responsibilities
Work in different shifts, requiring a 40-hour work week
Conduct patrol operations and enforce law regulations
Engage in community policing and emergency response
Participate in physical ability tests and written examinations
Complete training requirements at the police academy for non-certified cadets
Required skills
High School diploma or GED
Valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas
Ability to meet Texas Commission on Law Enforcement certification requirements
Strong physical fitness for agility tests
No recent drug or controlled substance use
Mathematical and reading comprehension skills
