Overview

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) at Life Care Center of McMinnville provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role is set within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in McMinnville, Oregon, known for its supportive environment and commitment to patient-centered care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients under supervision
  • Follow occupational treatment plans and chart appropriately and timely
  • Utilize therapy software accurately
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
  • Participate in community health matters and projects as appropriate
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan for patient needs
  • Maintain professional working relationships and confidentiality
  • Demonstrate good body mechanics and accountable decision-making

Required skills

  • NBCOT certification upon hire
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Currently registered or licensed in applicable State
  • One year of experience preferred, but new grads welcome
  • CPR certification upon hire
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Knowledge of post-acute care facility regulations and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
