Job Description

Overview

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) at Life Care Center of South Hill will provide direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role supports a diverse patient population in a skilled nursing facility, focusing on improving their quality of life through functional progress in a collaborative team setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients under the supervision of an OT
  • Follow occupational treatment plans for patients
  • Chart patient progress in a timely manner
  • Utilize therapy software accurately
  • Participate in community health matters and projects as appropriate
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all proprietary information
  • Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary

Required skills

  • NBCOT certification
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable state
  • One year of experience preferred, new grads welcome
  • CPR certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of post-acute care facility regulations
