Job Description

Overview

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will provide direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients, working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role is set in a supportive environment within a Skilled Nursing Facility, focusing on improving patients' quality of life and functional progress through collaborative care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy under supervision of a licensed OT
  • Follow occupational treatment plans and chart appropriately
  • Participate in community health projects as needed
  • Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs
  • Implement departmental programs, goals, and procedures
  • Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality
  • Exhibit excellent customer service
  • Assist in patient evacuation when necessary

Required skills

  • Certification from NBCOT
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Registered and licensed in applicable State
  • One year of experience preferred, but new grads welcome
  • CPR certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Good body mechanics and judgment
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing post-acute care
