Job Description

Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to become an integral member of the healthcare team within the Women's Health department. This role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care, ensuring compassionate service and support within a network of over 110 outpatient clinics in North Carolina.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform intake with patients, including vital signs and clinical information
  • Support providers with clerical administrative tasks
  • Administer medications as ordered or according to established protocols
  • Conduct Point of Care Lab testing
  • Participate in performance improvement projects
  • Float within the clinic to meet patient and provider needs as necessary

Required skills

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
  • Experience in clinical administration and vital signs monitoring
