Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their Urogynecology clinic in Durham, NC. The role involves providing direct and indirect care to patients while being part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake including vital signs and clinical information
  • Take and document telephone messages from patients
  • Administer medications following established protocols
  • Participate in performance improvement projects
  • Set up for clinical procedures and perform high level disinfection and sterilization
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment
  • Float within the clinic to cover needs as delegated by clinic leadership

Required skills

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA
  • BLS certification
  • Experience in healthcare and patient care
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
