Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) for the Growing Child Pediatrics Clinic in Raleigh, NC. This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care while being an integral part of the healthcare team, adhering to the commitment of compassionate care that Duke Health is known for.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform intake with patients including vital signs and clinical information
  • Set up for clinical procedures and administer vaccines
  • Administer medications as ordered by providers following protocols
  • Document patient encounters and take telephone messages
  • Participate in performance improvement projects
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment
  • Float to other Growing Child Pediatrics clinics as needed

Required skills

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong communication skills
