Job Description

Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for its Orthopaedics department in Morrisville, North Carolina. The role involves performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support physicians and ensure a safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care environment. Candidates will be eligible for a commitment bonus of $7,500.

Key responsibilities

  • Room patients and collect medical histories
  • Chart patient information and answer phone calls
  • Prepare clinics and obtain test results
  • Verify insurance and coordinate referrals and appointments
  • Maintain clean exam rooms and restock supplies
  • Check vital signs and assist with minor procedures as needed
  • Follow HR, Compliance, and Joint Commission policies
  • Support patient rights and respond to emergency codes

Required skills

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA
  • 1 year of prior clinic experience preferred
  • BLS certification required
