Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Duke Health's Neuro Clinic in Durham, North Carolina, plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to patients dealing with a variety of neurological disorders. This position involves both clinical and administrative duties to ensure smooth operations within the clinic and a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect medical histories and monitor vital signs

  • Conduct basic lab tests, perform EKGs, and remove sutures/staples

  • Handle billing tasks, including collecting copays and balances
  • Assist with clinic activities and committees

Required skills

  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA
