Overview

Summers-Taylor, Inc. is seeking a Certified Crane Operator to join their team in Johnson City, Tennessee. This role involves operating heavy crane equipment safely for highway and civil construction projects, requiring a strong understanding of load capacities and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects
  • Plan all lifts and use capacity charts
  • Perform rigging inspections and daily crane inspections
  • Respond according to hand and/or verbal instructions
  • Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury or damage
  • Perform daily inspections and report findings using verbal and written communication skills
  • Keep equipment clean and well maintained

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of crane operating experience
  • Class A or B CDL license with a clean driving record
  • Current DOT physical card
  • CIC, NCCO or equivalent OSHA-approved crane certification
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Focus on safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
