Job Description

Overview

The Certified Athletic Trainer at Hopedale Medical Complex is responsible for the prevention of athletic injuries and the rehabilitation of athletes following illness or injury. This role includes working with local high schools to ensure quality care and coverage during sporting events, and communicating effectively with athletes, families, and medical professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Prevent athletic injuries and promote health and well-being of athletes
  • Act as a Physician Extender during HMC clinics
  • Ensure athletic training coverage for home events at a local high school
  • Assist with coaches' clinics and provide outreach coverage to local high schools
  • Provide medical coverage at outside games and tournaments
  • Communicate athletes' playing status and ability to return to competition
  • Coordinate needs with school Athletic Directors regarding sports coverage
  • Evaluate and provide patient treatment programs according to departmental guidelines
  • Educate patients and ensure adherence to physician's instructions
  • Participate in athletic training organizations as appropriate
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care principles for the age group served

  • BOC certification and IL AT license or eligibility
