Job Description

Overview

ABF Freight is seeking a CDL-A Local Driver and Forklift Operator in Kansas City, Missouri. The role involves the pickup and delivery of cargo while ensuring safe loading and unloading practices. Candidates will be required to operate forklifts and complete paperwork related to cargo management while adhering to safety regulations and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Pickup and deliver cargo to and from various destinations
  • Load and unload trailers using appropriate techniques and technology
  • Operate a forklift as needed
  • Complete routine paperwork and properly log loading sheets
  • Inspect tractors and trailers
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Required skills

  • Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazardous materials endorsements
  • 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (or eligible for training)
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements
  • Good stable work record and safe driving record
  • Teamwork and customer service skills
