Overview

ABF Freight is seeking a CDL-A Local Driver / Forklift Operator for a full-time position in Gardner, Kansas. The role involves the pickup and delivery of cargo primarily within the proximity of the distribution center, along with loading and unloading trailers and performing various related tasks while ensuring compliance with safety and logistical regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Pickup and delivery of cargo to and from designated locations
  • Load and unload cargo using appropriate techniques and equipment
  • Operate a forklift as needed
  • Perform tractor/trailer inspections and setup
  • Complete routine paperwork and log loading sheets
  • Adhere to weight distribution laws and safety regulations
  • Maintain a stable and safe driving record

Required skills

  • Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements
  • 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience
  • Strong knowledge of safety compliance and logistics management
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Effective communication and team coordination skills
