Job Description

Overview

As a CDL A Delivery Truck Driver at McLane Company, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods to customers while ensuring adherence to commercial driving regulations. This role emphasizes reliability, safety, and customer service, contributing to the company's longstanding reputation as an industry leader.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report
  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery
  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations
  • Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt and product temperatures
  • Unload trailer and deliver product into customer premises
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
  • At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and logistics management
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Time management and route planning skills
  • Experience with vehicle inspection and customer service
