Overview

The Catering Director at Aramark is responsible for overseeing the entire catering operations at Western Carolina University. This role includes managing the catering team, planning events, meeting budgetary goals, and ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate total catering operations including booking events and supervising teams
  • Develop, select, and cost menus while managing pricing and hiring
  • Ensure all aspects of preparation, service, and cleanup for catering events
  • Establish and implement service and presentation standards for catering
  • Implement marketing plans and sales strategies for the catering department
  • Train and lead catering staff to adhere to service standards
  • Manage financial aspects including revenue, expenses, and reporting
  • Participate in sales processes and contract negotiations with clients
  • Stay updated on catering trends and advise clients accordingly

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience in hospitality or catering
  • 1-3 years of experience in a management role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in event planning and catering
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required
