Job Description

Overview

The Cat Scan Technician (CT) at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital provides computed tomography imaging services as part of a modern acute care facility. This position requires on-call availability and focuses on ensuring high-quality imaging results while prioritizing patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable standards of practice.
  • Accept on-call assignments and report to the facility within 30 minutes of notification.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders prior to procedures.
  • Educate patients about procedures and equipment to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as necessary.
  • Monitor patient condition and report/respond to changes appropriately.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and resolve issues with imaging quality.

Required skills

  • Two-year certificate, Associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
  • Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Patient care skills in medical imaging and quality control procedures.
  • Communication skills for patient education.
