Overview

The Norfolk Companies is seeking a Carpenter Helper to join their team in Braintree, Massachusetts. This role involves assisting experienced carpenters in residential remodeling, particularly in kitchen projects, while also providing opportunities for career growth in a supportive environment. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered for new hires.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with kitchen cabinet, trim, molding, door, and millwork installation
  • Support framing, finish carpentry, and remodeling projects
  • Work alongside experienced carpenters and project managers
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Load, unload, and move materials and tools
  • Deliver quality workmanship while working in occupied homes

Required skills

  • 2-5 years of Carpenter experience, preferably in residential remodeling
  • Experience with kitchen renovations and cabinet installation
  • Strong framing and finish carpentry skills
  • Experience working in occupied homes is a plus
  • Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar construction management applications
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and climb ladders regularly
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
