Job Description

Overview

The Middlesex Corporation, a leader in heavy civil construction since 1972, is seeking a Carpenter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing and assembling concrete forming systems based on blueprints and specifications, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the construction process.

Key responsibilities

  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures, scaffolding, and framework using hand and power tools
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine dimensions and types of materials required
  • Comply with and promote all Safety policies and procedures
  • Use and maintain power equipment necessary for job functions
  • Secure and put away all tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each work day

Required skills

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in bridge work
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience in assembly/disassembly of heavy form systems
  • Knowledge in concrete pumps, placement/finishing, and rebar installation
  • Familiarity with leveling tools such as laser levels and transits
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a team effectively
